Decisions
It was his last game at Bell Bore also for Julian it was decision day. It was a very eventful day for Julian, they just finished playing the state championship against Arlington high school. Bell Bore won 21-17. Now it was his big decision to either go to LSU, Alabama, and USC. He sat there for a second while the press was watching him because he is the number 1 quarterback in the nation. So he sat back took a deep breath and just went with his gut feeling, and chose LSU. After that he went home and had a surprise party and it was a lot of family members and friends from the team there and it was all LSU theme. Julian and his brother Mark were sitting outside and Mark and Julian were talking about college and Mark said, “This is something that can change your life for the better or the worst, you can play and not go and party or you go and party and get yourself in trouble and everything will be over.”
Julian said” Don’t worry about me I got it I know how to take care of myself.”
Graduation was right around the corner and he finished with an A,B honor roll. He had finished with a 3.8 gpa also he was student body president. At graduation the principal called his name up and he went up there and received his certificate and gave his speech about the overview of the year and he said how wonderful it was to be at the school and it was a pleasure meeting all of his friends. After graduation they had all of his family over to celebrate it. During the party he received gifts that he can use for college and money. He took pictures with all of his family before they left to go back home. That next month after graduation he headed off to the airport to go LSU and his family drove with him and he said his goodbyes and boarded his plane Louisiana. He arrived at campus at about 4 p.m and met with the counselor to get his schedule and his dorm number. Julian went to the dorm to meet his room mate and it was a guy from the LSU team and his name was Anthony. After he finished packing his belongings. When he finished it was about 8 p.m and he walked around looking at the field and all around the campus.
That next day was his first day of school and he had 3 classes and they were spanish,english, and psychology. Julian went to his classes and it was a good first day of school was pretty good. Since Julian had free time he went and talked to the coach to introduced himself,
“My name is Julian.”
“Oh i know who you are, my name is coach Brock.”
Julian responds “Coach Brock when does practice start?”
Coach Brock says”Well Julian practice starts July 15th.”
Julian says”Okay well I just came to see when practice starts and to introduce myself.”
Coach Brock,”Well it was nice to meet you Julian.”
It was coming up to his first season game and school was doing good and he made his way all the way up to varsity as a freshman. The first game was against Arkansa and it was the first league game. Julian is in the locker room getting ready for the game and he has butterflies in his stomach. They got ready to enter the field to start warming up and Julian was the first one to run out of the tunnel and he had never played in a game with that many people. Now it is kickoff and LSU is receiving the ball and after the play ends Julian runs out there and now the jitters are gone. Halftime and LSU is up 21-14 and Julian is 23/30 and 245 yards passing and everyone was shocked at his performance even his parents and brother Mark were impressed. Lsu pulled out a win against Arkansas 35-17 he was 37/48 and 375 yards passing and there were no words for how proud his family was and everyone else who watched it they were shocked at his performance, In the locker room Coach Brock said
“Julian I think you are the best quarterbacks I have ever seen.”
Julian responds “Thanks coach I didn’t think I was going to be that good because of how nervous I was.”
Now it is Julian’s senior year at LSU and he had won the heisman trophy two times during his time at LSU and he is about to win it a third time. It was the day before the championship game against USC and it was a late night Saturday and he got ready at about 8:00 p.m to go to this party and he left at 9:30. When he got there their was already a lot of people there and also his roommate Anthony was there and there was alcohol and drugs.
Julian pulled Anthony to the side and said”Look I don't want to drink or do any of this.”
Anthony”Look dude as a friend you need to just chill out you are always stressed out.”
Julian”Ahh alright!”
So Julian decides that he is going to enjoy himself and the police came because of a noise complaint and the police come in and Julian is acting crazy and violent. So the police arrest him and they were going to drug test him, so they did and it came back positive. So he called Mark and he explained his situation and Mark said
“What did I tell you?”
Julian says”Look I know I messed up can you please come and get me.”
Mark comes and gets him and he tells him
“Do you want me to help you get back on your feet?”
Julian says”Yes”
When he gets home he tells his family what happened and they are not happy so Mark has Julian go to therapy and the people there he doesn't like so he tells his brother and he says
“It's for the best”
Julian keeps going and he gets a job as a personal trainer because he wants to try to get his head back together and get back on his feet. Julian now has been working there for about a year and he sees one of his friends and they convince him to come out to the NFL combine next and Julian says
“Alright fine?”
Next year rolls around and he tells his family what he is planning to do and they encouraged him to do it so he flew to New York and tried out. So he gets a call saying that he did very well and the NFL wanted him to be in the league. He goes into draft night and gets drafted by in the 2nd round by the Lions and he was a star he broke every quarterback record and he played 12 seasons and got put into the Hall of Fame
